Why We’re Reclaiming “Yummi Mummis”

For a long time, being a “yummy mummy” felt like something I should aspire to. You know the picture: the toned, size-zero, Lululemon-clad mom on her way to hot yoga. Perfect hair, perfect abs, perfect smile.

That phrase was wrapped up in the male gaze - a standard that measured women’s worth by how we looked, instead of who we were or how we felt. It fueled comparison, pressure, and a disconnect from what truly mattered. Over time, it built a quiet bitterness in me toward myself.

And honestly? It was exhausting.

I realized that version of me didn’t serve me. And it doesn’t serve most women I know, either.

So we’re taking the name back.

Yummi Mummis will be redefined by our community - by how we show up, how we care, how we lead, and how we live.
We get to decide what the name means now.

Because we are Yummi Mummis. Exactly as we are.

This community is not about fitting into a mold or living up to someone else’s expectations. It’s about living fully, intentionally, and on our own terms - in ways that are healthy, authentic, and sustainable.
